Bishop's Youth Discussion

The Young Men and Women of the Grandview Ninth Ward met together in the Relief Society where Bishop Steve Rife addressed questions previously posed by youth in the ward. The questions related to dating, purity of thought, and living gospel standards when peers do not.

Priesthood Meeting

Brother Mark Walton taught on giving to others, reviewing a talk by President Thomas S. Monson from the October 2009 General Conference - - "Have I Done Any Good Today?"

Troop Meeting - - Combined YM / YW Activity

The Young Women organized a fun came of marshmallow baseball in the cultural hall.

Troop Meeting

Tonight Brother Brad Miller helped several troop members complete the horsemanship merit badge requirements (Morgan Hunter, Sam Jensen, Ian Pilgrim, and Tyler Rife). Also, Brother Taylor Cline taught the scouts how to work on merit badges, and each scout chose 2 merit badge pamphlets to help them earn merit 2 merit badges each over the next several weeks.

Priesthood Meeting

Greg Jones, substituting for Mark Walton, taught a lesson on Lehi's Vision of the Tree of Life, and how we can "hold on to the iron rod" by using "For the Strength of Youth." Landon Ledingham conducted the quorum meeting.

Troop Meeting - - Ballroom Dance Lesson

Tonight Hathan Hoopes and his dance partner taught the cha cha and waltz dances. The activity was hosted by the Varsity Scouts. Most of the Scouts brought a dance partner.

Today the Deacons Quorum Presidency was reorganized. Bishop Steve Rife and Brother John Bingham directed the reorganization, several parents visited, the new counselors and secretary were sustained and set apart, then Brother Mark Walton gave a brief lesson on the law of chastity.
